Perodua Myvi Mocha Silver

This car is a 2-year old Perodua Myvi in Mocha Silver colour(metallic). Detail started by washing the engine bay. Some before pictures.






This is my first time washing an engine so I took precaution to cover any wirings with aluminium foil. The alternator was all the way down there, so couldn’t cover that.



Engine bay is firstly rinsed with the pressure washer, then sprayed on Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner through a foaming head, agitated with various brushes and pressure washed off.



Adhesive residue removed with Ambersil’s Tar Remover




Rubber hoses and plastic dressed with Meguiar’s #40 Rubber/Vinyl Cleaner & Conditioner. Painted surfaces waxed with Meguiar’s #21 Synthetic Sealant.







The exterior of the car was only slightly dirty. Wheel wells were quite dirty and there was tar on the wheels and side underbody that the owner wanted removed.





Wheel wells washed with Meguiar’s Super Degreaser, agitated and pressure washed off. You can see below the white super degreaser foam turns brown almost instantly. Wheel cleaned with Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener.



Dirt being washed off from the wheel wells. Tar is removed by spraying on Ambersil’s Tar Remover, let it sit and then wiped off with a cloth.




Result.



Then, the car is washed with Shampoo Plus(two bucket method) and clayed with Perma Glass No.2 Clay using diluted shampoo plus as clay lube.






This is followed by tar removal using Ambersil’s Tar Remover.

Car is rewashed and dried using Meguiar’s Last Touch and a big microfiber towel.



I also want to share that this car belongs to the same owner of the Audi A4, he is a person who has a passion for cars and cares for his own cars, the finish on this Myvi is near flawless, furthermore, it is 2 years old! Just to show what regular and proper washing can achieve.




I initially planned to give the whole car with only a pass of Optimum Polish coupled with a Meguiar’s W-9006 finishing pad, but this combo was too light to remove any defects.

Next combo was Meguiar’s #80 Speed Glaze and W-8006 polishing pad. Still wasn’t aggressive enough.

And stepped up to Meguiar’s #83 Dual-Action Cleaner/Polish with W-8006 polishing pad @ 600 rpms. About 75% of the car was polished with this combo as I did not want to polish over the areas without any scratches.
This is then followed by Optimum Polish with a Meguiar’s W-9006 finishing pad to remove holograms/buffer marks.

Headlamp is machine polished with PlastX. After 4 passes, the scratches is less noticeable except for the long one.



Couldn’t get all the tar off from the very back of the wheel. Gotta make a MF on a stick soon :P



The car is sealed with Meguiar’s #21 Synthetic Sealant and waxed with FK1’s Pink Wax. M21 applied to the wheels, tires dressed with Meguiar’s Hot Shine and wheel well plastics dressed with Meguiar’s #40 Vinyl/Rubber Cleaner & Conditioner
